Hardware:
1. System Unit: The "System unit" is
the name given to the main PC box which houses the various elements which go
together to make up the PC. Within the System unit is the computer system's
motherboard, which contains all the main components, such as the CPU. The
system unit also houses items such as the hard disc, the floppy disc and the CD
ROM drives etc. System units come in two types, the tower version, or a desktop
version, which is designed to sit on your desk with your monitor on top of the
system unit.
2. The Mouse:
The mouse came into common use on a PC with the introduction of the Microsoft
Windows operating system. The operating system (DOS) would normally be
controlled via the keyboard. These days you need to be a competent mouse
user. There are many different types of mouse; the newer types have a
small wheel on it which when combined with the correct software allows you fine
control over the use of your software.
3. The Keyboard:
The keyboard is used to type text
and numbers into a word processor, text editor or other program. In a modern
computer, the interpretation of key presses is generally left to the software. A keyboard is also used to give commands to the operating
system of a computer, such as Windows' Control-Alt-Delete combination, which
brings up a task window or shuts down the machine.
4.
Tracker Balls: A tracker ball is an alternative to the traditional mouse
and is favored by graphic designers. Give much finer control over the
movement of the items on the screen. They may take a bit of getting used
to, but they offer a greater flexibility. Large
tracker balls are common on CAD workstations for easy precision. Before the
advent of the touchpad, small trackballs were common on portable computers,
where there may be no desk space on which to run a mouse. Some small thumb
balls clip onto the side of the keyboard and have integral buttons with the
same function as mouse buttons.
6. Hard
Disk: The hard disk is typically the fastest
and largest in terms of data, for example 40 -80 GB storage device in a
PC. It is the main storage device and is
found inside the System Unit.
7. Motherboard:
The Motherboard is contained inside your system unit and all
the vital computer systems plug directly into the motherboard. The CPU is
normally housed on your motherboard along with all other electronic components.
Other items such as the hard disc are attached to the system board, either
directly or via cables. These boards are getting smaller and smaller as the
components become more integrated. If you open up a modern system you will find
that it is mainly full of air.
8. Scanners: With a scanner we can scan printed
material and convert it into a file format which may be used within the
PC. Scan pictures and then manipulate these inside the PC using a
graphics application. You can scan printed text which can be manipulated
and edited within your word processor. There are a number
of specialist programmes called OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
programmes which are specifically designed for converting printed text into
editable text within your applications.
9. Microphones:
A microphone converts the pressure
waves caused by sound into vibrations within a coil which transforms the
vibrations into electric signals. These electric signals can then be sent by
wire or wireless to an amp or mixer of some sort for output to speakers or
perhaps a recording device
10.
Web Cams: We can now use a small digital movie
camera (a web cam) mounted on the PC monitor to allow two way communication
involving not just text communication, but sound and video as well. Yet
considered to be a standard piece of PC kit, it probably soon will be.
11. Digital Cameras: A digital camera is used in the
same way as a traditional camera, but instead of storing images on rolls of
film which have to be developed, the images are stored digitally in memory
housed within the camera. Are easily transferred to your computer, and
can then be manipulated within any graphics programmes installed on your PC.
12. Monitor: A modern computer's main way of outputting data is through
its monitor. When a user inputs a command via the keyboard, an input device,
the computer processes that command and outputs the results via the monitor.
Monitors may be CRTs, flat-panel LCD screens or touch screens
13. Printer: Printers produce a physical form of output. Word processed
documents or edited photos are made into a hard copy by printing. As computer
technology has evolved, so has printer technology. There are four main types of
printers: laser, inkjet, dot-matrix and thermal.
14. PLOTTERS:
A plotter is a device similar to a printer, but normally allows you to print
larger images. They are used widely in the design and research sector.
15. Flate
cutting plotter: Servo motor drive system to ensure the high precision,
lower noise and high speed. Imported linear guide to ensure smooth and stable
running under the high-speed operation. Automatic feed system to make loading
paper easier and more convenient driving. Pneumatic Pressure Cutting mode: a
constant pressure on large-format cutting, cutting up and down frequency
quickly , wider range of cutting material. The traditional electromagnetic
plate have the defect. The cutting pressure is not constant and the material
thickness is smaller .Ink-jet drawing method to ensure the high-speed and
lower noise. HP-GL language, full support for a variety of apparel CAD software
at home and abroad

automated Screen Printing Machines forever
22. Routers: A router is a network hardware device that interconnects
computer networks. It serves as a kind of gateway, connecting two or more
networks and redirecting exchange of data packets between them. For example, a
router can be used to connect a user's computer to the Internet via a broadband
connection.
23. Punch Card
Reader: A punched card reader or just card reader is a computer input device used
to read data from punched cards. A card punch is a output device that punches
holes in cards under computer control. Sometimes card readers were combined
with card punches and, later, other devices to form multifunction machines.
Software:
- Word Processing Software: This
software enables users to create and edit documents. The most popular
examples of this type of software are MS-Word, WordPad and Notepad among
other text editors.
- Database Software: Database is a structured collection of data. A computer
database relies on database software to organize data and enable database
users to perform database operations. Database software allows users to
store and retrieve data from databases. Examples are Oracle, MSAccess,
etc.
- Spreadsheet Software:
Excel, Lotus 1-2-3 and Apple Numbers are some examples of spreadsheet
software. Spreadsheet software allows users to perform calculations using
spreadsheets. They simulate paper worksheets by displaying multiple cells
that make up a grid.
- Presentation Software:
The software that is used to display information in the form of a slide
show is known as presentation software. This type of software includes
three functions, namely, editing that allows insertion and formatting of
text, methods to include graphics in the text and a functionality of
executing slide shows. Microsoft PowerPoint is the best example of
presentation software.

9.
Systems, Applications and
Products” (SAP): SAP is the acronym for Systems, Applications, Products. It
is a system that provides users with a soft real time business application. It
contains a user interface and is considered extremely flexible. In an SAP audit
the two main areas of concern are security and data integrity.
10. Enterprise Resource Planning

12.
General Sewing Data
(GSD) Software: GSD is the world's leading methods
management system and is a Predetermined Motion Time System (PMTS), designed specifically
for the sewn products industry. Its primary function is to rationalize
manufacturing methods and to produce an accurate evaluation of the time
required to perform a specific task or operation. Without measurement there can
be no management, and, whether in design, manufacturing, sub-contract or
retail, GSD provides the means to accurately evaluate labor costs prior to
committing valuable resources. More than this, it brings about a change in
outlook, a commitment to "Best Method" and a real basis for
communication - at all organizational levels, even breaking through barriers of
language.

tool used by architects and engineers to design three-dimensional objects. This
software is used to create new products or deepen the understanding of existing
products. Although best known for working with shapes, this type of software
has all the standard symbols required for technical drawings and schematics.
There are four key features to CAD software:
functionality, impact on the industry, training, and price.
